Walden's Machine was founded in 1976 by Charlie Walden. Primus purchased Walden's in 2006 and PCC purchased Primus in 2011. The Company offers a complete range of products and services including high speed machining (3, 4 & 5 axis medium/complex aluminum and hard metal machining), kitting, assembly and integration, decorative coatings, airfoil/propulsion structures specialist and global supply chain management. Walden's is a 24 hour facility and is staffed with 340 employees.

Job Description

Position Summary:

Level Three - Building upon level two, level three assembly mechanics work without supervision to build assemblies of all levels of complexities to print, while generally focusing on assemblies that require the highest level of accuracy and mastery of assembly tools. Level three assembly mechanics are expected to offer assistance and training to lower level mechanics. They will also assist in developing new assembly processes. Typically 3-5 years of related experience.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Without supervision build complex assemblies that requires the highest level of skill.
  • Perform advanced inspection operations to insure component alignment, clearance, cleanliness and fastening.
  • Maintain area organization and cleanliness through-out shift.
  • Assist and train lower level assembly mechanics as necessary.

Required Skills:

  • The ability to build and trouble shoot assemblies of all levels of complexity.
  • The ability to use basic hand tools as well as basic assembly tools such as clamps, rivet guns, countersinks and drills.
  • The ability to use basic inspection tools such as scales, micrometers, calipers and feeler gauges to complete required inspection procedures.
  • Proficiency in basic shop math and print reading.
  • Proficiency in interpreting and researching customer specs.
  • Training and mentoring skills. (Ability to transfer knowledge and develop others.)
  • This position does require working knowledge or intermediate use of technology-to include computers, and other devices.
  • Other duties are to be assigned based on business needs.

Required Experience:

  • This position requires evidence of successfully demonstrating mastery of level two competencies with at least two years of experience.
  • Typically 3-5 years of experience

Level of Education:

  • GED or High School diploma preferred but not required.

*4th Shift is Friday through Sunday, from 5:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. You work 36 hours, but are paid for 40 hours, and receive a shift differential. At this time, we are ONLY looking for 4th shift candidates.*
