Flowers Foods & Subsidiaries is looking to add a talented VP of Market Sales to our quickly growing sales team! Title:VP of Market Sales Salary: Competitive salary up to $138,500.00 Job Summary: The Vice President of Market Sales is responsible for driving positive results around key performance indicators across assigned market. This role will require flexibility to work during non-traditional working hours and possibly on weekends and holidays. It may also require periodic overnight travel up to approximately 50% based on business needs.
Rising to the Challenge: Position Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Responsible for executing sales strategies across all channels including retail, e-commerce and wholesale based on guidance from the Regional Vice President (RVP).
- Provide regular sales forecasts and plans to the RVP.
- Partner with Route Sales employees to execute local sales plans, drive revenue growth and pursue new business to achieve period and annual goals.
- Maintain close contact with RVP and provide updates on performance results and competitor activity to ensure talent and sales plans are aligned to business needs and market demands.
- Work with Route Sales employees to analyze on-going market trends of customer and product sales data, including competitor activity (pricing, products, promotions, space, position, people, etc.) to identify new business opportunities.
- Proved industry standards and best practices advice to assist Route Sales employees in their relationship efforts, so they can successfully execute against plan.
- Ensure that Route Sales employees are utilizing Go Spot Check and sharing SDW reporting to monitor units and dollar sales, profit margin, stale, to drive business conversations with RSRs, merchandisers, and customer accounts
- Provide Route Sales employees with proper guidance, direction, and assistance to achieve profit goals and compliance with all applicable policies and procedures (e.g., customer service requirements, equipment, vehicle, warehouse and other sales-related areas, recruitment, retention, orientation, training, discipline, safety, record keeping, EEO, and other HR-related areas).
- Manage Route Sales employees to drive company compliance and to meet warehouse and sales targets.
- Conduct weekly meetings with Route Sales employees to discuss issues in the market.
- Develop and maintain a positive relationship with Route Sales employees: coach and mentor Route Sales employees in the understanding and use of available information, including the professional presentation of information/knowledge to our customers and employees to blend company goals with customer/employee goals.
- Interact with and visit key customer accounts to build rapport and increase selling opportunities.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams including manufacturing, shipping, marketing, and product innovation, to ensure a flawless execution of sales initiatives.
- Implement shipping (pack-out), delivery, sales and merchandising training programs to ensure the team is equipped with the necessary skills to succeed and work safely.
- Maintain close contact with other Market Vice Presidents to stay informed on cross-regional activity and to share key success that could contribute to achieving overall sales growth goals.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures (EEO, Sexual Harassment, Sarbanes - Oxley, Safety, etc.).
- Perform other duties deemed to be an integral part of the position, including but not limited to fulfillment of work schedules, adherence to attendance policies, and other applicable operating rules, policies, and procedures.
Knead to Know: Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience in general management or sales.
