Epidemiologist III- Full time- Research, Design & Analysis

GENERAL SUMMARY:



  • Under minimal direction from senior staff investigators, responsible for establishing goals, methods and procedures for large epidemiologic studies.
  • Coordinates all aspects of design implementation.
  • Conducts quality control analysis and monitors study progression.
  • Identifies and addresses medical questions and issues.
  • Prepares complex reports of analyses and publishes results in manuscripts.
  • Writes all sections of grant applications.
  • Meets regularly with the Principal Investigator to review project goals and progress, identify problems and possible solutions, and set priorities for activities of the entire multi-site project staff.
    * Responsible for managing the day-to-day functioning and clinical site operations.
    * Track and order supplies.
    * Work independently and under minimal supervision.
    * Coordinate and oversee daily operations of research studies.
    * Coordinate and assume responsibility for participant recruitment and follow-up, data collection, participant and project-status tracking, participant incentives, and reporting data to project leads.
    * Handle IRB submissions and develop regulatory study documents.
    * Work with grants managers to prepare legal contract agreements with collaborating institutions such as data use agreements (DUA), business associate agreements (BAA), , materials transfer agreements (MTA), and confidential disclosure agreements (CDA)


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:



  • Reached candidacy status in PhD program with a concentration in Epidemiology or related field or Master's degree with five (5) years of experience supporting complex epidemiological studies is required.
  • If Master's degree, preference for the degree to be in Public Health with a concentration in Epidemiology or related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years in health research.
  • Experience in the planning, analysis and data management of epidemiologic studies required.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Proficient in computer software programs.
