Engineer 1 - Electrical

JOB SUMMARY

This high-impact role requires originality and judgment in the evaluation, selection, and adaptation of electrical engineering techniques for medical device development. As an Electrical Engineer I, you'll contribute to electrical device design and development as well as electronic system development from concept to commercialization, while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. You'll learn to apply your technical knowledge at the intersection of technological advancement and patient safety, developing innovative solutions that differentiate our products in the marketplace. The ideal candidate demonstrates creative thinking, sound technical judgment, and team collaboration to deliver solutions that meet regulatory requirements, advance our technology platform, and support business growth. ESSENTIAL DUTIES



  • Engages in electrical technology assessments and concept designs during early development phases, applying originality and engineering judgment to drive innovation and technical feasibility decisions.
  • Contributes to electrical characterization, verification, and validation activities at both the component and system level, to ensure product performance, safety, and compliance with applicable standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Participates in project management responsibilities, including report writing, planning, scheduling, and cost control.
  • Perform evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation of standard techniques in creating innovative electrical designs for medical devices.
  • Actively participates in in design reviews and offers innovative approaches, while researching and integrating appropriate new electrical technologies to maintain technological leadership.
  • Identify and mitigate electrical safety risks throughout the product lifecycle, applying creative problem-solving to address technical challenges while highlighting potential risks to avoid manufacturing delays and resource expenditure.
  • Track and improve key electrical engineering metrics to drive continuous improvement in design quality and efficiency.


OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Work assignments may require additional development and a maturing of in-depth engineering skill(s) or breadth
  • May work with manufacturing and other functional groups on manufacturing and regulatory compliance issues.



MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education



  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering required.


Experience



  • Relevant engineering internship or work experience will differentiate leading candidates

  • Knowledge of manufacturing protocols, statistical tools, methodology, and continuous improvement techniques preferred

  • Willing to seek guidance while carrying out instructions furnished in written or verbal form, and takes task approach to ensure assignments are accomplished according the guidelines and schedules
  • Experience with Altium (or comparable EECAD tools) for schematic design and board layout
  • Advanced mathematical skills for calculation of design equations
  • Fundamental understanding of power management, signal integrity, analog and digital design, high-speed connectivity, RF design, electrical system design, and electromagnetic compatibility principles

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able and willing to work in-person at Lakewood Colorado R&D office.

General Labor Environment requirements include: use of personal protective equipment, reading, speaking, hearing, walking, bending, standing, stretching/reaching, hand/finger dexterity, and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds, or transporting up to 500 pounds via carts or mechanized equipment.

Target Pay Range:$68,400.00to$85,500.00 -Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data

Target Bonus on Base:7.0%
