  • UT Health Tyler, the flagship hospital of the system, has 502 licensed beds specializing in advanced acute care medicine. Our hospital includes a 24-hour ER with Level 1 trauma center, a comprehensive stroke center, more than 500 physicians and a full complement of subspecialty groups.

Responsibilities

  • The Hospital Supervisor is responsible for assisting in the organization and administration of clinical services in order to ensure competent patient care delivery.
  • The Hospital Supervisor directs and supervises all hospital activities in the absence of the Department Manager.
  • The Hospital Supervisor assists in coordinating the placement of nursing personnel on all units to ensure safe quality care with maximum utilization of personnel skills.
  • The Hospital Supervisor must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit.
  • The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the abilityCurrent to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures.
  • The Hospital Supervisor functions as a resource to all areas of the hospital and assumes first line management responsibilities for hospital services.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse - Diploma, ADN or BSN
  • Current licensure in the State of Texas to practice professional nursing.
  • Current BLS Certification

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Three to five years of progressive management experience
