Fort Lauderdale Behavioral Health, a subsidiary of UHS, is a 182-bed treatment facility, conveniently located in beautiful Oakland Park, FL that specializes in the successful treatment of substance abuse and mental health issues for youth, adults and seniors. POSITION SUMMARY:

As a cash poster ensuring that the payments are posted to the correct account and the pro-rations are being done in a timely manner. Adhering to the electronic submission of retrieving EOBS and storing the files. Payments notes must be entered timely.

The Collector follows up on outstanding balances at 30 day intervals until balance is paid or denial is determined. Maintains follow-up and collection activity including letters, telephone, and personal contact regarding outstanding balances. The Collector is responsible for ensuring that account balances are correct and have been billed to appropriate payer. Collector is also responsible for maintaining financial files and documentation. Other responsibilities include advising, informing and assisting the patient/guarantor/family in regards to hospital financial policies.


Qualifications

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:

High School Diploma or equivalent. Two years of collections experience preferably within the healthcare setting.

SKILLS:

Must have strong written and verbal skills and have the ability to deal with all levels of hospital management and the public. Knowledge of third-party payment procedures, credit and collections a plus.
