Position: Japanese Bilingual Accountant
Work hours: 9:00am - 5:00pm
Location: Schaumburg, IL (Hybrid Remote)
FLSA: Exempt, Direct-Hire, Full-Time
An international company in Schaumburg, IL, is seeking a Japanese Bilingual Accountant to join their team. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you will assist with various accounting tasks, including accounts payable (A/P) and accounts receivable (A/R). You will also collaborate closely with the Sales team to ensure efficient invoicing. Key responsibilities include managing A/P and A/R, supporting general accounting functions, and assisting with month-end closing and financial audits. The ideal candidate must be fluent in both spoken and written Japanese at a business level.
Responsibilities:
Process invoices, payments, and deposits while maintaining accurate financial records.
Review payment requests and enter invoices into the accounting system.
Prepare checks and wire transfers while ensuring timely and accurate payments.
Handle customer payments, deposit checks, record ACH transactions, and update accounts.
Assist in preparing AR aging reports and support financial closing processes.
Collaborate with the sales department on accounting-related matters.
Coordinate with CPAs and auditors to ensure compliance and accuracy.
Contribute to process improvements to enhance efficiency and financial accuracy.
Provide clerical and administrative support, including special projects as assigned.
Maintain ethical standards and compliance, while ensuring a clean and organized workspace.
Qualifications:
Bilingual in Japanese (business level) is required.
Bachelor's degree is required.
Accounting experience is preferred but not mandatory.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is necessary.
