Position Highlights

The laboratory of Dr. Yin in the College of Medicine-Phoenix is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Research Professional II. The laboratories are in the newly renovated Biomedical Science Partnership Building (BSPB) in the downtown of Phoenix along with new equipment and friendly crews.

Successful candidates will join a multidisciplinary team within the setting of an outstanding new facility. The position is part of a well-funded research program and will provide the opportunity to produce publications and establish a record of grant award funding. Duties & Responsibilities
  • Under supervision assist with developing, planning, designing, and conducting advanced research, review progress and evaluate results.
  • Assist with organizing and maintaining unique mouse models.
  • Perform echocardiography and tissue Doppler and calculate the measurement.
  • Perform surgical procedures, vessel canulation, open chest surgery , myocardial infarction or transverse aortic constriction, hindlimb ischemia, etc. Willing to learn and establish new preclinical diseased models.
  • Isolation micro vessel, preparation and perform vasodilation ex vivo.
  • Maintain clear, detailed laboratory notebooks with experimental procedures, calculations, and data.
  • Perform cell or tissue culture, imaging microscopy, Western blot,PCR, RNA extraction, RTqPCR, Immunoassays, Immunohistochemistry and bioinformatic analysis.
  • Perform 3D-imageing analysis, micro-CT or light sheet scopy.
  • Clean, sterilize, operate, maintain, troubleshoot and repair equipment, machinery and instruments used for research.
  • Monitor and maintain laboratory safety, including biohazard materials and chemical waste. Maintain detailed records of controlled substances used in the laboratory, package waste material, and arrange for disposal according to established procedures.
  • Assist with ensuring regulatory compliance of the research program.
  • Maintain laboratory supplies, logs, and record books, troubleshoot and resolve problems, and help with special projects.
  • Keep laboratory supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders, and verifying receipt.
  • Contribute to deriving, analyzing, and formatting data for publications, presentations, and grant proposals.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
  • Three (3) years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Physiology, Chemistry, or related field of study.
  • Previous specialized experience in mouse or human coronary arteriole isolation and vasodilation (DMT) is preferred.
  • Previous specialized experience in Cellular or molecular experiment skills is preferred.
  • Previous specialized experience in RNA sequencing analysis or 3D imaging analysis is preferred.
  • Experience in studying cardiovascular physiology, microvascular disease
