Dover Behavioral Health System is seeking a full-time Patient Accounts Representative. The incumbent will be responsible for delivering high quality assessment and admissions services to the public to ensure the organization is meeting the operating needs and financial goals through verification of insurances and the collection of payments.

Responsibilities:

  • Verifies Medicare benefits via the CWF and identifies potential financial issues timely; Informs Assessment and Referral Center and the Central Business Office of any immediate financial issues
  • Verifies insurance benefits within a 24-hour time frame for all admissions received during regular business hours; Weekend admissions should be verified no later than Monday in the following week
  • Contacts insurance companies to determine extent of coverage, certification requirements and other policy limitations, deductibles and co-insurance
  • Enters and maintains patient verifications into the AS400 system timely and accurately ensuring notes and patient information is transcribed and updated
  • Reviews all insurance information loaded by the Assessment and Referral Center for accuracy and completeness; Identifies and rectifies problems as needed.
  • Identify and reports to Director, Central Business Office of negative trends pertaining to payers
  • Completes the review of admission packets in a timely manner
  • Notifies patients/guarantor of any financial responsibility via phone/letter and provides facility upfront collections expectations

Qualifications

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent; Previous insurance and billing experience in a hospital setting preferred; Strong computer skills required.
