Position Overview:

As an entry level Structural Engineer, you will work under the supervision of a Senior Structural Engineer. Your role includes evaluation, analysis, calculations, and preparing drawings, and ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards. You will collaborate with engineers, architects, clients, and contractors. You'll adhere to project timelines and budgets and continuously develop your technical skills.

PRIME AE Group, Inc. project types include Military/Department of Defense facilities and bases, Federal, Justice, K-12, Higher Education, Corporate Commercial, Hospitality, Wastewater Treatment Plants, Cultural & Historic, and Residential.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the execution of design processes on assigned projects and requests assistance from senior technical staff when needed.
  • Under supervision, performs basic engineering calculations and system design functions.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints, technical documentation, schematics, and computer-generated reports
  • Assists drafters in developing the design of projects using drafting tools, equipment, and software
  • Coordinates with PRIME AE's Architectural & MEP divisions to ensure integrated design and functionality.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering with a Structural focus; Masters preferred.
  • Engineer-In-Training (EIT) Certification preferred.
  • Due to the projects associated with this position, US Citizenship is required.
  • Targeting entry level candidates.
  • A structural focus or course work with steel, concrete, and foundations is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the fundamentals of design loads, load combinations, understanding codes, and application is preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic engineering theories and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of drafting and design procedures and standards.
  • Knowledge of building codes and regulations.
  • AutoCAD experience.
  • Revit experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Ability to travel for occasional pre-determined, scheduled site visits.
