Summary of Job Duties:The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) Urology Department is seeking a fellowship trained endourologist to join our burgeoning department. The Department of Urology is rapidly expanding with recent additions of a male reconstructive urologist, a second urologic oncologist and a female pelvic medicine and reconstructive (FPMRS) specialist.
UAMS is the tertiary care center for the entire state and the leader in providing minimally invasive and robotic urological surgery, endourology, stone disease care and BPH therapies such as HoLEP. There is strong demand for an endourologist and expertise in performing HoLEP is preferred but not required. Some of the primary benefits of this opportunity include:
*Dedicated outpatient urology clinic with built in referral pattern for kidney stone and BPH management
*Dedicated outpatient urology OR designed for endourology practice, fast turnovers and readily available equipment
*2 MOSES holmium lasers, thulium HPL and trilogy lithotripter readily available
*A culture of innovation with a history of acquiring new technology and equipment
*Ample robotic access and block time if desired (4 Da Vinci Xi robots)
*Dedicated APP and support staff with historical low turnover
UAMS Urology is a forward-leaning organization that believes in empowering the members of the team to provide a richer experience for patients, staff and the providers. Qualifications:
  • M.D. or D.O. equivalent or equivalent terminal degree
  • License to practice medicine or eligible for licensure with the Arkansas State Medical Board (ASMB)
  • Completion of accredited Endourology Training Fellowship Program
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified

Responsibilities:

  • Perform minimally invasive and robotic urological surgeries, including endourology procedures.
  • Manage kidney stone disease and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) treatments, with expertise in HoLEP preferred.
  • Provide patient care in a dedicated outpatient urology clinic with an established referral network.
  • Operate in a specialized outpatient urology OR designed for endourology practice, ensuring efficient procedures and quick turnovers.
  • Utilize advanced technology, including MOSES holmium lasers, thulium HPL, and a trilogy lithotripter.
  • Engage in a culture of innovation by adopting and utilizing new technology and equipment.
  • Collaborate with a dedicated advanced practice provider (APP) and support staff to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Participate in departmental growth and contribute to the expanding expertise within UAMS Urology.
  • Maintain high standards of patient care in a tertiary care setting, serving as a leader in urological treatment for the state.
  • Other duties as assigned.
