Summary of Job Duties:The Medical Writer/Editor will provide critical writing and editing support for research grants and manuscripts. This role involves conducting literature reviews, summarizing relevant findings, and contributing to the intellectual development of research proposals and publications. The ideal candidate will collaborate with researchers, faculty, and staff to enhance the quality and impact of scientific communication. Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field PLUS two (2) years of experience in medical or scientific writing and editing.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.

  • Ability to synthesize complex scientific information into clear, concise narratives.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Familiarity with grant-writing processes and manuscript preparation for peer-reviewed journals.

  • Proficiency in literature search tools and citation management software.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree in a related discipline PLUS five (5) years of experience in medical or scientific writing and editing.

  • Strong understanding of research methodologies and scientific communication best practices.

Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

  • Provide writing and editing support for research grants, manuscripts, and other scientific documents.

  • Conduct literature reviews and generate concise summaries suitable for background sections of grants and manuscripts.

  • Actively participate in the intellectual development of research grant proposals, manuscripts, and other projects by attending, facilitating, and planning meetings.

  • Ensure clarity, accuracy, and compliance with journal or funding agency guidelines.

  • Collaborate with investigators, researchers, and faculty to refine and strengthen research narratives.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
