Position Highlights |
The University of Arizona, College of Medicine - Tucson (COM-T) Research Administration Office is seeking a Research Program Administration Officer III. This position is responsible for management and execution of COM-T Dean's Office research events, and oversight of a new T32/P01 grant office. In addition, the incumbent will develop and monitor project plans for the research office. This position will assure effective communication between the research office and its constituents. Duties & Responsibilities |
- Oversee the operations of the T32 training and P01 program project grant office to include overseeing training grant and/or research education grant administration, monitoring faculty networking, grant development, funding, reporting deadlines, and maintaining compliance with NIH and institutional policies.
- Responsible for supervision of research project staff to include performance management and training.
- Track expenses for the office to ensure proper use of stipends, tuition, research costs, and salaries, and resolve financial discrepancies.
- Collaborates with Vice Dean, Research and Graduate Studies, and Research Operations Manager to ensure the quality and relevancy of research events; provide input on best practices.
- Oversee planning of all logistics related to internal and external research events at the College of Medicine, Tucson, including professional development workshops/activities related to the research and graduate programs.
- Identifies research grants and matches them to the appropriate research faculty/department.
- Aids in the grant writing, report development, and presentation process to ensure financial viability.
- Collaborate with the College of Medicine, Finance Department to ensure proper allocation of funds from grants.
- Develops and monitors project plans including timelines, resource requirements, and budgets.
- Serves as liaison between both internal and/or external stakeholders to coordinate activities, exchange information, deliver reports, etc.
- Meets with various stakeholder groups, including educators, undergraduate and graduate study research students, university faculty, local businesses, and the greater Tucson community.
- Maintain effective communications with Vice Dean, Operations Manager, Directors, associated faculty, and other college departments.
- Collect and analyze data related to the program and write up evaluation reports in a timely manner.
- Compile and analyze data related to program administration.
- Drafts program sponsor and other technical reports.

- Ability to give and accept feedback and work collaboratively to develop programs.
- Effective communication skills (written, interpersonal, presentation, and listening) and ability to model and teach these skills to others.
- Advanced skills with wide range of computer software including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Power Point), Outlook, database applications, and organizational programs.

Minimum Qualifications |
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.

Preferred Qualifications |
Ideal qualifications: Masters' degree and 3 years of research development experience. |
