GENERAL SUMMARY: Works in collaboration with the Practice Manager in planning, organizing, directing and coordinating the day-to-day operation of patient care in Bryan Physician Network. Facilitates teamwork within the department. Provides quality nursing care to patients in the department with strong skills in assessment, critical thinking, communication and teaching. Ensures patient safety, privacy and dignity. PRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 1. *Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently demonstrates our core values. 2. *Serves as a positive professional role model, exhibiting clinical leadership and decision-making skills. 3. *Provides direct leadership to clinical roles as assigned. 4. Completes staff and provider schedules. 5. Ensures development, implementation and evaluation of evidence based, quality clinical nursing practices and staff competencies consistent with nursing research and organizational and national practice standards. 6. Oversees the development and revisions of policies and procedures including triage protocols in collaboration with BPN leadership. 7. Assists with the departmental budgetary procedure to ensure proper operational and capital planning, appropriate and efficient use of resources, and consistent compliance to budgetary and fiscal controls. 8. Assists in effectively resolving the clinical concerns of patients, families, and providers. 9. Responsible for leading the supply ordering process and serves as the contact person for all vaccine, lab, and other drug representatives. 10. *Effectively assists with human resource processes, including scheduling; performance appraisals; staff recruitment; selection and retention; training and education; motivation, coaching, and mentoring; and appropriate productivity measures. 11. Oversees CLIA waive labs. 12. *Guides and clinically supervises care given by other members of the health care team and maintains accountability to ensure adherence to ethical and legal standards and competent care is delivered to patients of all ages. 13. *Collaborates and coordinates with other disciplines to meet the needs of the patient; interacts effectively with other team members to provide high quality care. 14. *Acts as department liaison to other departments/clinics, providers, and patients. Provides representation on designated committees as needed. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Current Registered Nurse licensure from the State of Nebraska or approved compact state of residence as defined by the Nebraska Nurse Practice Act. Minimum two (2) years direct patient care required. Previous supervisory experience desired. OTHER CREDENTIALS / CERTIFICATIONS: Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required.
