midsouth.ualr.edu Summary of Job Duties:The Regional Team Leader serves as the Regional Training Team Leader and is responsible for the general office supervision of the Regional Training Academy. This position is responsible for coordination and delivery of all training activities including training new worker curriculum (both classroom and CHRIS training) and "specialized" training to the Division of Children & Family Services (DCFS). The position is also responsible for consulting with DCFS staff, providing identified training to the child welfare community, and working collaboratively with the local university partners and area DCFS staff as it relates to Child Welfare Reform. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy. Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Education, Technical Writing, Public Administration, or closely related field;
  • Three (3) years of professional experience with children and families (public child welfare preferred).

Preferred Education and/or Experience:

  • Experience and training in Curriculum Development and Training Delivery;
  • Knowledge and experience in Safety Organized Practice (SOP);
  • Current Arkansas or related license or certification;
  • Master of Social Work or related Master's Degree;
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience with CHRIS or Child Welfare Reporting System.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Supervision:

  • Provides supervision to site IV-E Child Welfare Trainers, Regional Support/Administrative Specialists;
  • Responsible for the on-site coordination of assigned training activities at the regional training academy;
  • Complete annual performance evaluations for all direct reports;
  • Provide oversight and training of Workday tasks and the REDCap data management system for all direct reports;
  • Coordinate onboarding/orientation for all new direct reports, provide training for newly hired child welfare trainers, and arrange continued education training as requested by the MidSOUTH Training Director.

Leadership:

  • Convenes regional team meetings for the purpose of assessing and coordinating DCFS staff development;
  • Participate in Academic Partnerships and Community Partnerships to promote knowledge dissemination and training;
  • Serve on workgroups representing MidSOUTH;
  • Collaborate with the MidSOUTH curriculum development team for ongoing curricula revisions and the development of new curricula.

Training:

  • Serve as a primary trainer for the Division of Children & Family Services - Family Service Worker-New Staff, CHRIS training, and special request training/workshops provided for the DCFS staff and community-based providers;
  • Provide DCFS Leadership/Supervisor training, Program Assistant training, and Extra Help training as necessary;
  • Provide individual consultation with new workers regarding knowledge/skill development;
  • Manage the evaluation of new workers' performance in training content and skills mastery;
  • Assist DCFS Supervisors and Area Managers in meeting the workers' training needs;
  • Assist in coordinating continuing education workshops for DCFS Family Service Workers and supervisors;
  • Attend Training of Trainers, DCFS mandatory training, and continuing education workshops when relevant to the position.

Data Collection:

  • Responsible for data collection from training participants;
  • Maintains a monthly report of all contacts with DCFS.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of DCFS policies and procedures, possess the ability to stay current on DCFS policy and procedure changes, and maintain knowledge of the Arkansas child welfare system;
  • Ability to travel in-state and occasional out-of-state;
  • Ability to work outside of normal office hours, including nights and weekends;
  • Ability to train others and work independently;
  • Ability to respond professionally to questions via telephone, email, and one-on-one about related training provided by MidSOUTH;
  • Ability to meet multiple program deadlines, and manage multiple tasks;
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Office and other software applications;
  • Ability to maintain a contact log spreadsheet.

Salary Information:

$51,500 - $53,000
