https://ualr.edu/education/ Summary of Job Duties:This Assistant Professor position includes teaching, research, and program building in the special education and other programs in the school. It requires working collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and the community, teaching courses as assigned, having an active research/creative work agenda, and participating in university and community service. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy. Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • PhD, EdD, or ABD in Special Education or a related field;
  • Teaching experience.

Preferred Education and/or Experience:

  • Special Education teaching experience in a K-12 setting;
  • Research consistent with departmental focus and needs;
  • College teaching experience.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Teach in face-to-face, online, and weekend formats;
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses as assigned;
  • Have an active research agenda;
  • Collaborate to rebuild the special ed program;
  • Participate in university and community service;
  • Work positively with faculty, staff, students, and the community;
  • Serve as liaison to the special education community, including schools, the state, and community organizations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Teaching experience in a K-12 setting;
  • Teaching experience in college setting;
  • A program of research consistent with departmental focus;
  • Ability to teach a variety of courses within our curriculum in a traditional and online format;
  • Desire to engage in professional service activities in the community.
