THE ROLE: Director, Financial Planning & Analysis

The Director, Financial Planning & Analysis will be a key strategic partner in driving financial decision-making and long-term planning at A+E Global Media. This position will lead corporate financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting efforts while ensuring cost efficiency, resource optimization, and financial sustainability. As a senior leader, the Director will collaborate with executive leadership and cross-functional teams across Human Resources, Legal, Business Affairs, and Corporate Development to provide actionable insights that drive business performance and operational excellence.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and manage monthly reporting documents, providing variance analysis and key performance indicators (KPIs) to track business performance and financial health. Present insights to senior management, highlighting risks and opportunities
  • Participate in monthly assessment of risk/opportunities and quarterly forecasting for all businesses
  • Drive the five-year long-range planning (LRP) process for the specified areas of responsibility, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives. Develop scenario modeling, sensitivity analysis, and forecasting to support strategic decision-making within these functions
  • Partner with key corporate functions-Human Resources, Legal, Business Affairs, Office Services, Corporate Development, and Research-to drive financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting. Collaborate with business leaders to provide financial insights that support strategic decision-making and optimize cost structures
  • Assess capital expenditure projects, return on investment (ROI), and funding requirements to ensure optimal capital allocation
  • Liaise with Corporate Accounting to ensure accurate financial reporting, proper expense recognition, capital project accounting, and alignment of actuals with forecasts
  • Build and manage the annual compensation budget, updating for approved changes while ensuring alignment with financial targets and workforce planning strategy

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN:

On our team, you'll have the opportunity directly interact with a wide range of disciplines that spans research, Legal and Business Affairs, Human Resources, Corporate Development and Office Services. You will learn the inner workings of a media company, and as part of your larger team you will also be exposed to the global content sales and the operations side of the business. This role provides a platform for leadership development, strategic thinking, and innovation in a fast-paced, dynamic industry.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting is required. MBA or a Master's degree is preferred
  • 10+ years of progressive finance experience, with a strong background in FP&A, strategic planning, and business analysis
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and present financial insights to executive leadership
  • Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and analytical skills.
  • Expertise in enterprise financial systems specifically with SAP.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) and advanced Excel (macros, pivot tables, scenario modeling)
  • A strategic, proactive mindset with a continuous improvement approach to financial processes and systems
Compensation Annual Pay Range: $151,389 - $177,125 Annual Incentive Target: 17.50%
