Summary of Job Duties:The Speech Rehab Tech performs a variety of clerical duties and assists licensed therapists with patient care procedures. Responsible for inventory, equipment and clinical maintenance and infection control procedures for department. Handles, manages scopes and other diagnostic equipment. Performs daily charge reconciliation and inputs data into reports. Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED plus 1 year to include patient care, administrative, customer service, or related experience.

  • BLS certification (must obtain certification within 30 days of starting this role)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 years of computer experience

Additional Information:

Employees in this role must be fitted for, and capable of donning and performing routine tasks in personal protective equipment including N95 masks, Powered Air Purifying Respirators (PAPR), or Controlled Air Purifying Respirators (CAPR).

Responsibilities:

  • Assists licensed therapists with patient care procedures by preparing patient/supplies/equipment, assisting during treatment, and completing post-procedure cleanup.

  • Assists patients in carrying out exercises that have been written out by Physical Therapists, Athletic Trainers, Strength and Conditioning coaches, and/or Chiropractors.

  • Ensures appropriate levels of supplies are present to carry out daily therapy operations.

  • Monitors department equipment to ensure proper working order. Performs daily/weekly cleaning of clinical areas.

  • Checks in patients as they arrive at the facility and schedules follow-up visits as patients leave.

  • Answers phones, gathers new patient paperwork and takes copays.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
