Patient Account Representative
Overview Performs all phases of the payment processing functions for reimbursements from third party payers and patients received in EVMS Medical Group's system. Responsibilities Responsible for the payment posting functions to include: Posting of personal patient payments Verifications and posting of insurance and institutional payments and adjustments Posting of MasterCard, Visa, and American Express payments Credit balance review and processing of refunds Perform the reconciliation and balancing of completed cash journals Review, correct and/or post Medicare, BCBS, Optima and Medicaid electronic payments and adjustments Other duties as assigned Qualifications Candidate should have prior experience with healthcare payment posting. Knowledge of Third Party Payer rules and regulations. Knowledge of ICD-9/CPT coding practices. A minimum of 45 WPM typing ability. Good interpersonal skills. Appreciation for confidentiality.
