Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Analyze and review data and conduct analyses for complex, multi-discipline mining, forestry, and carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) projects to include, but not limited to, water management and treatment, geochemical characterization and modelling, and water quality assessments for all stages of project development and operations;
  • Prepare, review, and manage production of technical reports, letter, memoranda, work plans, etc.;
  • Prepare for and participate in meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other parties; and
  • At times, travel to select project locations.
  • Business development including bringing in new clients and securing repeat business from existing clients, leading proposal preparation, and developing and implementing a business plan.


Education and Licensure

  • Bachelor's degree in geological, geoscience, or geoenvironmental engineering. (required)
  • Advanced degree in relevant geoscience, geological, or geoenvironmental engineering. (preferred)
  • Professional registration (i.e., P.E., P.G.) or qualified for professional registration when eligible. (preferred)
  • Current MSHA New Miner or Annual Refresher Training. (preferred)


Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • At least 7 years (8+ preferred) of experience in an environmental consulting environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
  • Understanding of mining operations and mine waste management, geoscience, biogeochemistry, water quality assessments, geochemical modelling. (required)
  • Strong technical background in engineering and environmental practices/services for mining facilities. (preferred)
  • An understanding of the relationship between the multidisciplinary aspects of mining, forestry, and CCUS including geology, hydrogeology, environmental practices/permitting, rock mechanics, water management, process design and tailings management. (required)
  • Experience with multi-disciplinary project teams. (required)
  • Ability to succeed in a consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed. (required)
  • Excellent safety record with the ability to demonstrate safety leadership. (required)
  • Regular field work and overnight travel. (required)
  • Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers. (preferred)
  • Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing may be required.
  • Valid United States driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)

This opportunity will be posted for at least five days. Below are the potential compensation ranges that we in good faith believe are applicable for this role at the time of this posting and are only applicable for jobs to be performed in the specified location(s) below. The typical base salary range for this position is just one component of Geosyntec's total compensation package for employees. Actual compensation will be determined based on education, experience, skill set and location.

  • Minimum: $91,505/year / Maximum: $153,725/year (Broomfield, Greenwood Village, Lakewood, CO)
