Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience, plus a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience to meet managerial expectations.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Range Systems, a business area within the General Dynamics Mission Systems company, is a high-tech business focusing innovative solutions and thought leadership through warfighter training, including live training, training software development and sustainment. Through RS, we are investing in building the devices, sensors and hardware Soldiers and Marines will wear while training in the field to acquire data data for after-action reports. In this role, you will be required to lead the engineering group to develop and support current and next generation training systems for various customers.

As the Senior Engineering Manager (SEM) focuses on Intel/Electronic Warfare (EW) & Threat Systems, focusing on focuses on provides proficiency training for Military Intelligence analysts and system operators to acquire and exploit intelligence data in a "train as we fight" simulated environment. You will be responsible for upholding the high degree of competency required within the engineering group to ensure adequate technical support for released products and driving any necessary improvements. The successful SEM candidate will provide expert leadership and guidance at all levels of the engineering organization and demonstrate the ability to contribute in a meaningful technical capacity to engineering tasking while managing the organizational needs of and ensuring performance excellence of a mid-sized engineering department.

As the SEM, you will work with the Program Manager, Chief Engineer, and program engineering leads to make critical decisions on architecture, design, and technology choices and work with cross functional teams to ensure that our products are successful at launch.

Expected to integrate highly complex activities within their discipline and across functional and program boundaries
Fully capable of managing work, setting objectives and meeting commitments, and is an excellent team player
Requires the ability to change the thinking of, or gain acceptance from, others in sensitive situations, without damage to the relationship
Recognized internally and externally as an expert in their field
Erroneous decisions will result in critical delay(s) in schedules and/or unit operations and may jeopardize overall business activities
Travel may be required
Security clearance may be required
Most or all work is completed through the management of others

Target salary range: USD $208,877.00/Yr. - USD $231,723.00/Yr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.
