JOB SUMMARY: The incumbent in this role is the subject matter expert in immigration sponsorship and will act as a liaison between internal and external immigration attorneys, business units, and Talent. This role requires collaboration with various stakeholders, including recruiters, compensation coordinators, department leaders, and vendors. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations while managing and streamlining immigration processes.
JOB ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Serve as the Immigration Subject Matter Expert and liaison between Talent, Legal, Finance, and business units and collaborate to facilitate employee transitions.
2. Oversee immigration programs and assist foreign nationals and managers with immigration procedures, policies and timelines. Provide responses to immigration queries and resolve issues as per legal requirements. 3. Review visa applications and support employees with required documentation. 4. Track and maintain accurate records for visa expirations, work permit renewals, and changes in immigration laws. 5. Ensure compliance with immigration laws and stay updated on policy changes. Identify and report risks associated with immigration. 6. Work with and manage relationships with external immigration service providers to ensure compliance, timely document processing and service quality. 7. Lead, refine, document and support process improvement initiatives for immigration program and policies. 8. Recommend strategic initiatives for immigration sponsorship based on company needs. 9. Identify gaps and/or growth areas for immigration policies and practices and propose strategies to address. 10. Provide training and resources on immigration topics to HR and management teams. 11. Collaborate, coordinate, and communicate across disciplines and departments. 12. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and requirements. 13. JOB SCOPE:
The incumbent works independently under minimal supervision using judgment and knowledge in applying a fundamental knowledge of principles, practices and procedures related to US immigration programs, policies and procedures. An incumbent may be called upon to identify and establish best practices with regard to immigration sponsorship in consultation with their supervisor. The work is varied and may be somewhat difficult in character and nature requiring a reliance on a knowledge base built through experience.. Some evaluation, originality and/or ingenuity will be required. |
