Job Description: The Accounting Specialist is responsible for maintaining and recording accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll records. This role includes, but is not limited to, the daily recording of customer invoices, vendor invoices, processing payroll, and maintaining customer and vendor information across multiple systems. The individual in this position will work closely with the Accounting Manager and other team members to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal procedures.

Key Responsibilities and Deliverables:

  • Accounts Receivable & Payable: Manage accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll for the designated business unit.
  • Payment Processing: Process customer payments via check, credit card, and EFT; process vendor payments via check, credit card, and EFT.
  • Reconciliation & Reporting: Receive, process, and reconcile statements; prepare and record bank deposits; generate and review monthly financial reports.
  • Audit Preparation: Assist with the preparation for annual audits and assist the Accounting Manager with monthly and annual financial closures.
  • Compliance & Record-Keeping: Ensure compliance with internal accounting procedures; maintain accurate records including ledgers, journals, receipts, and invoices.
  • Project Support: Provide assistance to the Accounting Manager with various accounting projects and tasks as needed.
  • Administrative Support: Perform administrative and other related tasks assigned by the Accounting Manager.

Education/Experience:

  • 1-3 years of general accounting experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience working with payroll, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
  • An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field is preferred.
