Job Summary

The Regional Manager, Critical Facilities Environments will plan, coordinate and supervise critical data centers' Facilities Management Operations, providing a variety of O&M services within a 24/7/365 environment. This role will have Profit and Loss responsibilities for the Critical Environments Portfolio, ownership of the reliability 'up time' of Critical Environments assigned and provide for the O&M for building systems of other facilities within the portfolio as assigned.

Technical Expectations and Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following

  • Operational Risk Management and Oversight

  • Prepares Budgets, and other financial reports as directed.

  • Operational Reporting as it applies to CPI measurement.

  • Reviews and approves expense reports of team members as required.

  • Implements the corporate processes and procedures established, and as provided for the account.

  • Works with, supports and implements Operational Excellence team initiatives.

  • Meets regularly with team to plan and disseminate corporate information, policies and procedures as needed.

  • Supports corporate initiatives for Environmental Health and Safety, Security, Energy, Waste Management, and others as required, and reporting potential problem areas to management as applicable.

  • Verifies and validates corporate programs are being supported at site level.

  • Manages training for staff.

  • Solves problems within procedural limitations. Provides coordination with clients, support groups and contractors as needed.

  • Provides data and information including textual modifications and updates on corporate reports as scheduled.

  • Establishes and ensures efficient utilization of team staffing.

  • Ensures Corporate Training programs are implemented at all sites.

  • Provides data and reports as required, including formal studies and evaluations and other various administrative functions such as status reports, or scope, schedule of services and costs for outside contractors.

  • Takes ownership of technical evaluation of staff to perform assigned duties.

  • Ensures housekeeping of work areas is maintained for safe operations.

  • May review contractors work to determine code and compliance to specifications.

  • Performs all managerial functions common to a regional critical environment facility maintenance and plant operations organization. Reviews and evaluates performance and ensures quality standards are being met. Takes corrective action to resolve problems.

  • Ensures STOPS/MOPS/MMRs as appropriate for site operations are available.

  • Monitors Work Order implementation to ensure compliance with procedures.

  • Consults with client(s) to help establish priorities.

  • Performs an audit function regularly to ensure high standards of operational excellence are being met.

  • Ensures the Computerized Maintenance Management system (CMMS) is being used to track all maintenance work, labor hours, Preventative Maintenance work orders, and Reactive Work tickets.

  • Develops and reviews appropriate metrics as needed.

  • Determines responsibilities of assigned organization and staff positions to accomplish business objectives.

  • Assures subcontractor and vendors are qualified to perform contracted services.

  • Implements subcontractor and vendor on-boarding processes working with corporate contracts administration team.

  • May participate in Obtaining and evaluating subcontractor and vendor quotes, for site or facility projects.

  • Prepares Business Cases, when required, for proposed project or site/system modifications.

  • Performs administrative activities associated with the effective management of operations, including compiling, storing and retrieving data for reports.

  • Trains and ensures all assigned employees are aware of and comply with Company, government and client policies, procedures and regulations as provided.

  • Available for 24/7 emergency action activities.

  • Complies with all Corporation, and EHS requirements and programs, as provided.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Manages supervisors and leads the Critical Environments and Facility Managers assigned.

  • Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of Critical Environments activities within the assigned portfolio.

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws, as provided.

  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • 10 to 15 years in responsible charge of Tier 2, 3 or 4 Data Center(s) or Critical manufacturing Operation(s).

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from four-year College or University preferred; or 10 to 15 years related technical experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in operations & maintenance and/or building engineering roles.

  • Familiarity and Strong knowledge of Work Order Control procedures and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems.

  • Must be able to use personal computers, with emphasis on Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project programs.

  • Critical Environments / Datacenters Facilities Management Experience
