Position Overview

The Fleet Ops Associate II will complete a variety of transportation duties with an emphasis on delivering materials to internal and external locations. The Fleet Ops Associate II will also recommend and provide support to ongoing process development and improvements. The position will work within defined protocols and procedures and may aid in the development and documentation of new procedures for the department and will work cross functionally with individuals at Exact Sciences locations to ensure departmental needs are met.

Essential Duties

Include but are not limited to the following:

  • Ensures material support for all internal teams through delivery of materials to internal cross-campus and external vendor locations.
  • Responsible for the safe and timely transportation of materials including but not limited to hazardous materials, specimens, supplies, reports, large and high dollar lab equipment and inventory materials to appropriate location and teams.
  • Work within designated software platforms for daily fulfillment request and report generation.
  • Works cross-functionally to aide in the development and enhancement of fulfillment software.
  • Transport packages in compliance with state and federal regulations. Work cross-functionally to ensure proper paperwork accompanies each shipment.
  • Load trucks by properly placing and securing items. Unload trucks using material handling equipment when applicable.
  • Participates and/or acts as point person for department in cross functional projects.
  • Perform vehicle safety inspections as well as assist with DOT logs when applicable.
  • Support and comply with the company's environmental health and safety procedures.
  • Ability to accurately follow standard operating procedures (SOP's).
  • Strong documentation skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in team situations as well as independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to operate company vehicles for an extended period of time.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds or push up to 75+ pounds for approximately 50% of a typical working day.
  • Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 25% of a typical working day.
  • Ability to grasp with both hands; pinch with thumb and forefinger; turn with hand/arm; reach above shoulder height.
  • Ability to work on a computer and phone simultaneously.
  • Ability to comply with any applicable personal protective equipment requirements.
  • Ability and means to travel between local Exact Sciences locations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • 3+ years of experience driving vehicles larger than 15 ft.
  • 2+ years of experience in a Distribution/Warehouse setting.
  • 1+ years of experience in daily ticket fulfillment software.
  • Possession of or ability to obtain a forklift certification within 90 days of hire date and maintain throughout employment in the position.
  • Possession of or ability to become certified to operate up to or including a 26-foot straight truck with air brakes within 90 days of hire date and maintain throughout employment in the position.
  • Possession of or ability to obtain Hazardous Materials certification within 90 days of hire and maintain throughout employment in the position.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license, no more than two moving violations in the past 36 months, and no unresolved license revocation or suspension issues.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years of forklift experience.
  • Understanding of DOT regulations.

Salary Range:

$42,000.00 - $67,000.00

The annual base salary shown is for this position located in US - WI - Madison on a full-time basis. In addition, this position is bonus eligible, and is eligible to be considered for company stock at hire and on an annual basis.
