We are currently seeking a Material Planning Buyer to join our Boart Longyear team in Salt Lake City, UT.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented professional to ensure that we acquire goods efficiently. This position is responsible for participating on a cross functional team to achieve cost, delivery, and quality metrics, as well as supplier development. The role requires an effective team leader and experienced project manager. In this role, the buyer will be responsible for the administration and processing of requisitions, purchase orders, and received items. This position will require up to 5% travel to support global initiatives.



  • Development and execution of commodity strategies and ensuring their alignment with achievement of the company's key results.
  • Initiate and process new requisitions and purchase orders for both finished goods and raw materials.
  • Address and correct any related AP holds on invoices to ensure our vendors are paid in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Work with the sourcing team in a supportive function to develop, enhance and nurture strategic supplier relationships with key suppliers as needed.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the supply side of assigned value stream to achieve key results in support of the business; flexing resources, assisting with master scheduling of manufacturing locations, and releasing those aggregated requirements into the supply base.
  • Ensure the implementation of and adherence to standard operating procedures to ensure superior levels of performance. Identifying potential areas of process improvement, recommend solution, and drive improvement. Develops and maintains commodity-based reporting as necessary.


Minimum Qualifications



  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Must have valid Driver's License
  • Minimum 3-5 years of procurement and supply chain experience (CPSM/CPM preferred)
  • Bachelor's Degree in supply chain related field (preferred)
  • Commodity management experience (metallic products preferred)
  • Experience in industry with manufacturing and engineered products
