Belcan is seeking a remote, highly experienced Engineering Drawing Checker to support a high-profile Customer Aircraft program. This role requires proficiency in Catia and a deep understanding of ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards to review 2D engineering drawings and Model-Based Definition (MBD) datasets. The ideal candidate will have 15+ years of experience ensuring engineering documentation meets industry and customer requirements.
Job Duties:
*Perform detailed checking and validation of 2D drawings and MBD datasets for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with customer and industry standards.
*Ensure proper application of GD&T per ASME Y14.5 and validate dimensions, tolerances, and annotations.
*Review engineering documentation, including BOMs, title blocks, and drawing formats, to ensure consistency.
*Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to resolve discrepancies and improve documentation quality.
*Provide feedback and mentorship to engineers on drafting standards and best practices.
*Work within PLM/PDM systems such as Enovia or Teamcenter to manage drawing revisions and approvals.
*Support configuration management and document control activities to maintain data integrity.
Required Qualifications:
*15+ years of experience in engineering drawing checking, within aerospace or related industries.
*Proficiency in Catia (V5) is required.
*Strong knowledge of ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards; ASME certification preferred.
*Experience with both 2D drawing validation and MBD datasets.
*Familiarity with PLM/PDM systems such as Teamcenter or Enovia.
*Strong analytical skills and keen attention to detail in identifying design inconsistencies.
*Excellent communication and collaboration skills to support engineering teams.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
*Experience supporting VIP or custom aircraft modifications.
*Previous Boeing experience is preferred.
*Knowledge of FAA regulatory requirements related to aerospace engineering documentation.
Compensation:
We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary rate of $110-140k however, Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
