FOX Sports is looking for a Manager, Studio Operations to join their team in Los Angeles, CA. The Manager, Studio Operations oversees the workflow and communication of day-to-day live production. This position is a point person who manages multiple productions, coordinates with a variety of internal departments and handles issues/situations that arise in relation to the technical staff and the technical crew. The Manager, Studio Operations reports to and works in tandem with the Director, Studio Operations to ensure comprehensive communication of all production elements.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide oversight of operations day-to-day to avoid conflicts, and overtime, and to utilize the best resources for each production
  • Oversee training of operators in tandem with the Manager of Scheduling - ensures onboarding of new hires
  • Maintain an adept crew that is technologically up to date and expertly trained on in-house equipment
  • Ensure all studio technical positions are booked accurately and alert management of potential conflicts, OT, 6th days, turnaround, etc.
  • Manage supply orders, oversee expendables, and handle rental requests
  • Report technical concerns and day-to-day technical challenges to the Director of Studio Ops
  • Work with Engineering and the Director of Studio Ops to monitor equipment repairs and follow up on technical problems
  • Troubleshoot production solutions and work with technical staff to provide options
  • Follow up on daily schedule changes, facility usage, and personnel scheduling with the Scheduling Supervisor and/or Production Management
  • Participate in weekly update meetings with team and creative partners
  • Manage freelance concerns and communicate with Studio Ops Director
  • Manage the studio EIC's
  • Work with department Managers on scheduling production staffing needs
  • Additional assignments and projects as needed/requested by management
  • Administrative duties as needed: timecards, invoices, distribution of operational packets, etc.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • 5+ years of studio ops experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft suite
  • Knowledge of union contracts
  • Familiarity with PO process and onboarding system
  • Understanding of technical production control room workflows
  • Logical thinker and solution oriented
  • Communicative and easily approachable
  • Positive outlook, team oriented, collaborative, and flexible
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays

NICE TO HAVE BUT NOT A DEALBREAKER

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Comfort with scheduling software

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $84,500.00-108,500.00 annually for high cost labour markets such as but not limited to New York City and Los Angeles, $70,400.00-90,400.00 annually for all other US locations. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
