FOX Sports is looking for a Manager, Studio Scheduling to join their team in Los Angeles, CA. The Manager, Studio Scheduling oversees all aspects of the scheduling department and supervises BTL union crew members. The Manager, Studio Scheduling assists managers as a link with production groups to help guarantee that all shows have necessary personnel, and all studio and facility scheduling is complete and accurate. Additionally, they will monitor and maintain schedules for control rooms, crews, and various productions and will also help maintain a strong talent pool.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Interface with studio operations managers and show directors to determine studio facilities needed
  • Oversee the creation and administration of daily, weekly, and monthly crew schedules and inputs in scheduling system
  • Organize the monthly schedule templates in planning and scheduling system
  • Maintain a constant watch on the programming and production grids and advise on changes to studio ops team
  • Ensure all schedules, bookings, crews, and control rooms are accurate and up to date with the help of the Operations Managers
  • Verify all finance codes for productions are correct and confirm that all bookings and scheduling are confirmed
  • Day-to-day scheduling of production crews and facilities and ensuring proper staffing for all productions by gathering availability in advance
  • Ensure all studio technical positions are booked accurately and alert management of potential conflicts, OT, 6th days, turnaround, etc.
  • Adjust staffing schedules to meet the changing demands of program schedules and production needs
  • Manage scheduling needs for large- and small-scale shows
  • Work in a high paced environment that is subject to multiple changes that require immediate attention to accuracy
  • Confirm crew arrival times and break schedules for each studio daily
  • Update electronic schedules daily and comply with union rules as they apply to scheduling daily hires
  • Follow up on daily schedule changes, facility usage, and personnel scheduling with managers
  • Ensure hiring, scheduling, and deployment of freelance hires meet production requirements
  • Manage recruitment of new freelance operators and coordinate training and integration into the pool of available daily hires - handles onboarding new hires for roster and scheduling
  • Take labor budgets into consideration when making scheduling decisions for efficiencies
  • Help with payroll weekly to support the Operations Team in meeting payroll deadlines
  • Oversee all scheduling and monitor for potential scheduling conflicts
  • Work with other departments and take all production needs into account
  • Work with other crewing departments in the event studio personnel are assigned to remote productions

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • 3+ years of experience in scheduling entertainment or sports studio shows
  • Broad understanding of all BTL positions related to studio shows, both on set and in control rooms
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Outstanding time management skills
  • Leadership capabilities
  • Ability to make difficult decisions under time constraints
  • Remain calm under intense and constant pressure
  • Basic Word/Excel/Google collaborative docs
  • Learn internal scheduling system
  • Knowledge of or learn union contracts

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $106,000.00-118,500.00 annually for high cost labour markets such as but not limited to New York City and Los Angeles, $88,300.00-98,700.00 annually for all other US locations. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
