Description
The Warehouse Lead performs a variety of warehouse functions accurately and efficiently to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction. This position collaborates with other departments to achieve business results. Coordinates with warehouse leadership to facilitate day-to-day activities of the warehouse. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participates in the daily warehousing duties (receiving, picking, packing, quality control, cycle counts, etc.)
- Coordinates with manager to faciliate day-to-day activities of warehouse department and work shift in which designated the Lead.
- Process orders, locating products, handling returns
- Assist customers with loading their order onto their vehicles
- Continuously improve productivity and efficiency of processes throughout the operational organization.
- Corrects and/or reports any inventory inaccuracy or problem resulting in customer dissatisfaction and maintains a clean and organized work area.
- May occasionally drive a company vehicle.
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- High school diploma/GED, and/or equivalent experience is required.
- 3+ years of warehouse experience (receiving, picking, packing, shipping, loading/unloading trucks), and forklift experience.
- 1-2 years of previous leadership experience preferred.
- Ability to read, interpret and comprehend documents such as training instructions, shipping tickets, procedure manuals, etc. at a fast pace.
- Ability to understand and apply instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to use critical thinking to solve problems involving several variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both verbal and written communications with internal and external customers.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and efficiently.
- Must pass forklift training and maintain forklift certification.
- Must maintain valid driver's license, clean driving record and DOT Medical Certification.
- Requires lifting ability of up to 70 pounds, with frequent lifting of 40-60 pounds.
- Ability to stand and/or walk on a concrete surface 8 to 10 hours a day.
- Ability to withstand fluctuating temperature changes.
- Flexible and willing to perform other tasks as assigned in an environment where job duties shift.
- Basic computer knowledge including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Experience with SAP is advantageous.
Hourly Pay: $20 Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position. These include labor markets and, in some instances, may include education, skills, work experience and certifications.
