Organizational Unit Overview |
The Department of Pediatrics is one of the largest clinical departments within the East Carolina University School of Medicine. The mission of the Department is to provide quality patient care, to teach medical students and residents, and to do research. It consists of 16 sections. The Department is funded by the State appropriations, practice plan generated income, and by grants awarded. It is the mission of the Department of Pediatrics, East Carolina University School of Medicine, to provide exemplary medical education/training of physicians in pediatric medicine at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Additionally, it is the mission of the department to provide model comprehensive primary and consultative subspecialty care to children of eastern North Carolina, to advance scientific knowledge through basic and clinical research, and to provide continuing medical education opportunities for physicians in the region. The achievement of this mission requires a full faculty commitment to the goals and operations of the Department of Pediatrics, the East Carolina University School of Medicine, and East Carolina University. Brody School of Medicine operates within
ECU Health under a joint operating agreement.
ECU Health Hemophilia Treatment Center (
HTC) is one of about 140 HTC's nationwide, but stands out by offering comprehensive multidisciplinary care and support for patients throughout their lifetime, while serving a rural patient population of Eastern NC, SC, and VA. As a vital extension of
ECU Physicians mission "To provide the highest quality and most compassionate health care to the people of eastern North Carolina while educating the next generation of health professionals to do the same." The
HTC is comprised of clinics, research team, education, and patient support programs. |
Job Duties |
The Hemophilia Treatment Center Program Director will be responsible for day-to-day business operations of the Hemophilia Treatment Center. This includes the creation of program budgets, their oversight and required annual reporting. They will complete monthly expense and revenue reconciliation for the 340B program as well as monitor the associated grant activity to ensure milestones are met. Review regulatory documents to ensure program compliance. They will collaborate with internal partners as well as Hemophilia Alliance representatives, contract pharmacies and other state HTCs. Serve as the point of contact for 340B Program Income fund and related grants. Participate in various meetings to support the
HTC and Sickle Cell Program, which may include local and national conferences. Oversee internal and external communications including newsletters, website and social media accounts. This position will provide direct leadership and supervision to a team of five multidisciplinary professionals, while overseeing the administration and operational management of three division programs.

Minimum Education/Experience |
Bachelor's degree and three years of experience in the area of assignment, of which at least one is supervisory or in a lead-worker capacity; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. |

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education |
Experience in a medical/graduate school on a health sciences campus.
Experience managing grants, creating and managing budgets for a federally funded Hemophilia Treatment Center. |
