The Audiovisual Installation Technician will handle installation tasks for contracted projects, including, but not limited to, cable pulls, cable terminations, system equipment, and components, rack fabrication and wiring, equipment layout, and metal fabrication. The Installation Technician will take direction from the lead technician but may also lead and direct installation crews on less complex projects. This position is expected to coordinate and report to the Project Manager, ensuring projects meet time, scope, budget, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction requirements. Responsibilities:
- Perform installation tasks and client training as noted in the job summary based on project scope and directives.
- Able tobuild and wire custom designs from engineering drawings
- Capable of completing assignments in line with established task durations and able to estimate task durations to fulfill assignments.
- Provide daily feedback to the Site Lead or Project Manager
- Demonstrate job site leadership and oversee Level 1 Technicians' quality of work
- Read and interpret project system schematics and architectural/construction blueprints
- Use hand and power tools to solder and crimp connectors along with various other AV systems-related tasks
- Execute a wide variety ofcable terminationsfor all wire and connector types and ability to test completed terminations
- Test point-to-point cabling and functionality of systems
- Track, manage, and secure all associated equipment and tools on the job site
- Work with office staff to initiate return material authorizations as needed
- Communicate daily job site status to the Site Lead or Project Manager
- Maintain daily record of time worked on specific projects for timesheet entry and work performed reports
- Work hours may vary based on client requirements and will include travel to various locations supporting our projects.
- Travel to various job sites as required
- Frequency of Travel up to 50%
Desired Qualifications:
- Formal education in Audio Visual, Electronics, or related fields preferred
- Crestron, AMX & Extron installation experience.
- Audio DSP platform certifications or related work experience are preferred (Examples: QSC. Biamp, ClearOne).
- Control system platform certification or related work experience is preferred (Examples: AMX, Crestron, Extron).
- Preferred Certifications
- AVIXA CTS General Certification
- Familiarity with AV-specific software (e.g., Crestron Toolbox, Extron Toolbelt, BiAmp, Qsys)
- Experience in a construction environment is preferred
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
