Licensed Therapist - Clinical Intake Specialist

Responsibilities

We are seeking full-time Clinical Intake Specialist to complete Level of Care Evaluations (LOC) for prospective patients at St. Louis Behavioral Medicine Institute. This position includes the assessment of patients for accurate placement of a patient into the applicable level of care, including outpatient, Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) or Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and assisting patients with the initial steps required to establish successfully into the identified level of care needed.

The ideal candidates must be licensed within the State of Missouri to practice independently (without supervision) in a clinical mental health field (i.e., Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker).

Job responsibilities to include:

  • Level of Care Evaluations for new, existing new, and former patients, including collecting of demographic and clinical information. Level of Care Evaluations include diagnostics and initial treatment planning, as well as assessing for IOP/PHP program differentials.
  • For patients identified as appropriate for IOP/PHP, the Clinical Intake Specialist will complete and communicate Benefits Verification, Good Faith Estimates, and provide needed registration/orientation paperwork. The specialist also engage with insurance companies to secure prior authorizations as needed.
  • Complete initial scheduling of appointments and/or facilitiates patient's engagement with non-clinical Intake staff for further scheduling as appropriate.
  • Provide timely communication of eligible patients for the IOP / PHP Programs to the designated SLBMI team member(s), including data entry and reporting.

This position works within the Intake Department and works closely with other teams, including the Billing Team and IOP/PHP leadership. The ideal candidates have excellent clinical skills with the ability to indepently evaluate patients efficiently for level of care and program discernment, with attention to detail and accuracy and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Interested applicants must be fully independently licensed (LCSW, LPC) in the state of Missouri.
  • Master's degree in a psychology-related field (such as an LCSW) is strongly preferred.
  • Intermediate knowledge within MS Office Suite and prior experience working within Electronic Medical Record Systems are preferred.
