Donaldson is hiring an Engineer II - Project Engineer to join our Fixed Wing, Aerospace Engineering team. In this intermediate level engineering role, you will participate and contribute in the creative process to discover and develop new product ideas or strategic product extensions; this would include translation of research discoveries into usable and marketable products or application of Donaldson products.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Supports the appraisal of new product ideas to determine their potential to address customer needs and to achieve goals in revenue growth and market share.

  • Demonstrating innovation and providing value to customers and industry utilizing a variety of tools and resources available in a technology driven company.

  • Works in cross- functional teams and responsible for all phases of assigned standard engineering projects, ensuring the successful conclusion of all phases within an appropriate time and at appropriate cost.

  • Investigate project requirements and develop solutions to meet and exceed customer expectations. Keeps informed of new or improved designs, methods and techniques, materials, and other advances in engineering technology.

  • Provides technical support and collaboration to Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing and Engineering, as well as clients through customer visits and/or consultations; ensures product design meets manufacturing and/or procurement requirements.

  • Advancing product strategies by meeting program objectives. Prepare and present technical results and information in a clear and concise manner through drawings, specifications, reports, oral presentations to meet Company and customer needs.

  • Recognizing customer input and translating into new products, applications, and technologies.

  • Using your mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills to advance engineering projects.

  • Investigate project requirements and develop solutions to meet and exceed customer expectations.

  • Lead DFMEA's, participate in PFMEA's, develop DVP&R plans, and coordinate the validation of your designs as needed.

  • Lead projects through a stage-gate product development process in support of meeting product performance, reliability, cost and project schedule goals.

  • Support activities with computer aided engineering (CAE) personnel to solve technical problems.

  • Ensures compliance with government and organization engineering standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering required.

  • Up to 3years related professional engineering experience.

  • Ability to create innovative new products incorporating the voice of the customer.

  • Must have the ability to collaborate within a team environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage through competing projects and priorities efficiently with strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to present and communicate at all levels.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability.

  • Highly organized, detailed oriented, and proactive.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Air Filtration knowledge/experience.

  • Familiarity with new product development stage gate process.

  • Ability to understand basic circuit design and hardware/software knowledge.

  • Ability to perform computer aided engineering (CAE), notably finite element analysis (FEA).

Travel:

Ability to travel up to 10%

Annual Salary Range: $71,900 - $91,700. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors including, but not limited to applicable work experience, training, education, performance.
