The Associate Medical Director, USMA Specialty, will be aligned to support launch excellence activities for the US Specialty Therapeutic Area in Respiratory. The Associate Medical Director will serve as a key member of the Medical Matrix Team to support asset medical plan(s) and lead the execution of medical affairs activities (conferences, symposiums, congresses) in order to deliver measurable impact on behalf of patients with Specialty conditions. This role may flex over time to support the USMA Specialty team and other assets.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Support the US Medical Affairs Leads with the development and execution of the US Medical Launch Plans.

  • Track launch/ asset Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that demonstrate the impact of medical on accelerating launch excellence and advancing healthcare delivery.

  • Support the US Medical Affairs Leads on launch readiness and strategic brand reviews.

  • Plan and execute medical activities in collaboration with the cross-functional Medical Matrix Team.

  • Prioritize investment in medical activities to deliver the greatest, strategically aligned, impact on patient care measured via GSK's Medical Impact Framework.

  • Support advice seeking activities and other external engagements to advance scientific and medical understanding of the appropriate development and use of medicines, the management of the disease, and patient care.

  • Partner with the Directors of Medical Communications & Scientific Training and Medical Information stakeholders to ensure communication goals and medical materials created align with the US medicine strategy and business needs.

  • In collaboration with field medical, support external engagement planning via the identification and refinement of relevant external experts and key on-line influencers.

  • Follow sound medical governance for all activities.

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Healthcare Doctorate (PharmD, PhD, MD, DO, DNP, NP, PA).

  • 2+ Pharmaceutical industry experience.

  • Experience working in a US healthcare environment managing external events.

  • External stakeholder and external expert management experience.

  • Experience in medical affairs accountabilities for evidence generation, external engagement and advice seeking.

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Industry and/or clinical experience in the respiratory therapeutic area

  • Product launch experience and US commercialization experience

  • Flexible thinking - ability to analyze external environment and translate to strategy and gain support of others to implement a vision. Must demonstrate good judgment.

  • Business Acumen- ability to analyze external environment and translate to strategy.

  • Customer focused - ability to evaluate and understand the needs of the patient and healthcare ecosystem and build a customer-focused plan.

  • Building relationships - ability to work effectively with others, delegate appropriately and foster a culture of collaboration.

  • Enable and drive change - ability to influence to deliver results, proactively look for new opportunities and constantly anticipate the need for change.

  • Learning agility- must demonstrate deep understanding of the disease area, asset and competitive landscape.

  • Strong organizational, planning, and business acumen skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
