A Brief Overview This position is responsible for assisting physicians with all GI procedures and performing certain procedures independently when ordered by a physician. Provides technical support and documentation for all procedures done through the GI Suite.
What you will do
- Prepares all necessary lab slips and paperwork prior to the start of the procedure 100% of the time.
- Prepares necessary equipment and ensures proper functioning prior to the start of the procedure, including calibration and data entry 100% of the time.
- Obtains necessary specimens as decided by the physician and delivers to the appropriate laboratory immediately after the procedure 100% of the time.
- Cleans, disinfects and sends certain equipment for sterilization at the end of all procedures 100% of the time per infection control guidelines.
- Properly stores equipment after all cleaning, disinfection, sterilization and drying is complete.
- Maintains par levels of supplies.
- Assist nurses in other duties as assigned.
- Communicates and collaborates effectively with all department members.
Education Qualifications
- High School Diploma / GED Required
- Technical Diploma Preferred
Experience Qualifications
- At least two (2) years technical experience in gastroenterology procedures Preferred
