SUMMARY Support for Engineering Change/Time Compliant Technical Order (EC/TCTO) development and drafting services. The Draftsman will modify technical engineering drawings and correct drawing elements using AutoCAD to meet U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) engineering drawing requirements. Additional tasks may include applying USCG standard border AutoCAD blocks, removing revision markings to create an "Initial Release" drawing, and updating tables, text, and dimensions based on detailed red-lined drawings. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Includes the following:
- Works with the COR to develop all necessary drawing and updates for the EC/TCTO documentation.
- Uses the Coast Guard Standard Workstation III or contractor computer to receive, process, and update field generated, or red-lined Engineering Drawings as directed by the COR.
- Provides technical data and evaluation for components, equipment, and systems consistent with naval engineering plans, layouts and contract requirements.
- Gathers data from Cutters, other Product Line Branches, SFLC Engineering Services Division and other Coast Guard units as directed by the COR in the development of drawings for various platforms.
- Assists in organizing and attend platform team meetings as directed by the COR.
- Completes other administrative support tasks in support of drawing development as assigned by the COR.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY No supervisory or management authority. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Draftsman- Shall have Minimum education requirement of an Associate's degree or at least two years of job-related experience or equivalent job-related experience. The government requires the Draftsman to possess the knowledge, qualifications, and experience listed below.
- Expert level ability to create and modify drawings, illustrations and diagrams using AutoCAD software.
- Able to gain an understanding of USCG general drawing practices and procedures.
- Should have a general naval engineering knowledge including Hull, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronic components.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Ability to obtain Common Access Card (CAC).
- Must have a valid Secret clearance.
- Proficient in the use of Coast Guard Standard Workstation III.
- Expert level ability to create and modify drawings, illustrations and diagrams using AutoCAD software; to include removing revision markings to create an "Initial Release" drawing; and updating tables, text, dimensions, etc.
- Knowledge of USCG CAD Standards, or ability to gain an understanding of USCG general drawing practices and procedures.
- Ability to pass a federal background check and drug screen.
