The Enterprise Financial, Planning & Analysis team provides centralized planning, forecasting and guidance for Sherwin-Williams' global businesses. This includes partnering with the Company's business units to develop an accurate view and expectation of business drivers enabling business strategy and action.

The SG&A, Other Expense, and Workforce Planning Director is responsible for strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis of expenses related to selling, general, administrative, and non-operating expense items as well as workforce planning. The Director is a decisive player in effective budget allocation by making strategic suggestions based on insights gathered from data. This role contributes to efficient resource allocation and optimization through scenario modeling and strategic analysis. Aligning corporate objectives with financial goals, this position leads a team providing insightful variance analytics and reporting that bolster the organization's decision-making process. This role helps amplify the organization's financial and operational efficiency, making it integral to Sherwin William's overall financial landscape. A successful candidate will be asked to continuously improve in financial forecasting and planning, models, processes, and related reporting to communicate ideas and expectations clearly.

Because this role involves access to confidential financial information, the Company has determined that a review of criminal history is necessary to protect the business and its operations and reputation and to provide similar protections for its clients and potential investments.

Additional roles and responsibilities include:



  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to align expense management strategies with organizational objectives, including usage of key tools such as Allocadia.
  • Leading the annual Budget process for Admin areas, including People Planning within OneStream
  • Simplifying complex data and communicating concise and actionable findings to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Supporting the Operation FP&A team's strategic planning initiatives.
  • Analyzing historical, current, and projected financial data to identify trends and guide decision-making.
  • Collaborating with HR and operations to understand workforce needs and trends, taking initiative to determine impact to the finance organization and build alignment between all impacted groups.
  • Ensuring adherence to financial regulations and compliance (e.g. US GAAP and Sarbanes Oxley).
  • Leading a team of four direct reports with a focus on talent development; set standards of performance, coach, train, and develop employees through regular, clear, and consistent communication of goals and deliverables


The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong work ethic, ability to work well under pressure, and the skills to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced work environment. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to adjust and reprioritize as needed, while maintaining a strict adherence to deadlines is critical. Attention to detail, as well as a desire and ability to problem solve through complex financial situations is a must.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

FORMAL EDUCATION:

Required:



  • Bachelors degree in Finance or Accounting


Preferred:



  • Masters degree in Business, Finance or Accounting
  • CPA/CMA


KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

Required:



  • 10+ years of professional work experience in finance, accounting, planning, and/or forecasting
  • 7+ years of people management experience
  • Experience communicating effectively with customers and ability to think through customer's needs in advance
  • Ability to use organizational and industry knowledge to develop solutions to enhance the strategic planning process
  • Ability to apply planning and forecasting concepts to identify opportunities to optimize and improve process
  • Ability to build strong business partnerships, and collaborate across multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to strategically influence stakeholders in the adoption and use of optimized planning and forecasting processes
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with Business Unit Finance and other Enterprise Finance organizations (i.e., Controllership and SBS), with a focus on collaboration and customer service
  • Ability to identify complex business performance and process-related issues, and presenting insights and solutions to drive efficiency and standardization throughout the organization


Preferred:



  • Experience as a manager of managers preferred


TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Required:



  • Demonstrated experience in project management and root-cause analysis
  • Demonstrated knowledge of digital solutions to enable execution of forecasting abilities
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MicroSoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint


Preferred:



  • Strong working knowledge of OneStream, SW chart of accounts, and/or Oracle Cloud preferred
