The annual pay range for this position is $150,966 - $165,500.00.

How You Will Contribute:

Duties: Responsible for leading, devising and executing sales strategy and account planning to meet/exceed sales/booking/margin quota. Build and implement account strategy plan that best positions Ciena to maximize its revenue streams and margins in accordance with company expectations. Initiate and develop strong customer relationships at all levels to include executives. Participate in setting strategy and tactics for each specific sales objective. Responsible for the sales and fulfilment process associated with global activities. Responsible for SFDC management along with weekly status/progress and forecast reports. Work with extended Ciena team, including executive team, product marketing, product management, and sales operations to achieve sales and revenue objectives. Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of Ciena products and future portfolio. Responsible for direct sales activities requiring Bookings/Revenue/Margin presentations at all levels of management. Qualify New Business Opportunities (Globally) working with Legal and commercial departments to determine risk profiles against revenue upsides. Engage with Customers on new opportunities, using Ciena's differentiating solutions (photonics / Ethernet / Operational improvement tools / SDN solutions) to drive successful concepts to reality. Directly work on partner deals (Managed Optical Fiber Network) where GCN customers are involved and drive the outcome based on GCN network demands.

Up to 50% travel required. May telecommute from anywhere in the United States.

The Must Haves:

Requirements: Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field and five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in job offered or in a Computer Systems Engineers/Architects-related occupation.
Position requires five years of experience in the following:
* Optical with an understanding of subsea networks;
* GCN's network requirements, Operational and capital expenses planning and total cost of ownership models;
* Transmission systems, data networks, optics, and network management;
* Technical submarine knowledge understanding wet plant technologies and site technologies;
* Working with Cloud Customers or Hyperscaler Customers; and
* System sales, system engineering, or product management.

Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
