About the Job

The Crane Lab at the University of Minnesota is seeking a postdoctoral associate for research projects focusing on the role of macrophages and microglia in chronic inflammation or cancer. We utilize genome engineering of induced pluripotent stem cells followed by downstream differentiation to generate cellular therapies to mitigate inflammation or enhance effector function. The efficacy of these engineered cells are tested in vitro and in vivo using multiple assays to address independent hypotheses of cellular function.

As a postdoc in a newly established lab, you will have the chance to implement your own systems to impact research directions and shape lab culture. Benefits to working in the Crane Lab are access to state-of-the-art research facilities and equipment, and networking with established collaborators across UMN colleges and departments (including Dr. Branden Moriarity, Dr. Beau Webber, Dr. James Dutton, and Dr. Jonathan Sachs). The UMN is home to world-class core facilities including the University of Minnesota Genomic Center, The University Imaging Center, and the Minnesota Supercomputing Institute.

Perform hands-on research focusing on techniques listed in preferred qualifications.
Mentor/supervise undergraduate students, technicians, and volunteers.
Disseminate research findings through publications and oral presentations.
