DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Commonwealth Media Services is a full-service multimedia and marketing provider for commonwealth agencies. We transform ideas into creative, compelling content for use on agency websites, social media, and broadcast news outlets. If you are multi-skilled and looking for an opportunity as a public servant to develop, share, and execute creative ideas to inform Pennsylvania taxpayers, look no further!

We are looking for someone who is a multifaceted team asset with the ability to perform video, photo, editing and post-production activities including live broadcasts. Must be willing to travel, including overnights. You will be responsible for meeting with Commonwealth agency representatives to discuss and guide them through the media process assisting them with reaching their objectives and outreach targets. You will be assisting your "Team" in creating the best value for our customers.

In addition, you will provide technical services and be proficient in current professional software including, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premiere, Adobe Photoshop, Apple Final Cut Pro, and Apple Motion; produce/shoot/edit content for use in state agency and Governor's Office support, promotional, educational, and training videos as well as broadcast television, social media, and website design support.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment.
  • Work hours are 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, flexible based on work schedule. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years experience as a Digital Production Assistant; or
  • Two years of professional video, audio and multimedia production experience, and a bachelor's degree in communications media or a related field; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirement:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

  • Experience in photography
  • Experience in videographer news role or cinematographer or videographer production role
  • Experience editing and producing social media videos
  • Experience with graphic design
  • Experience with motion graphics
