Position Summary The mission of the Sourcing and Workforce Development team is to partner with internal and external organizations in building strategies to ensure a pipeline of ready-to-work soon talent. We strive for excellence in building capabilities that help the company execute our business strategy, promote economic mobility in the communities we serve, and act as champions of sourcing and workforce development in each of our jurisdictions. The Sourcing Specialist is an integral member of Talent Acquisition, combining consultative, influencing and advocacy skills to find and engage talent on future opportunities at Duke Energy. This role supports Recruiters and Managers to ensure there is a ready soon pool of talent that can support near to future term hiring needs. The Specialist will develop sourcing strategies, construct target lists of companies, candidates, prospects and leads, develop pipelines of talent, maintain progress reports, and capture market data. A successful person in this role will possess the ability to proactively identify talent through a variety of sourcing techniques and have experience sourcing for hard to fill roles. The candidate should have a passion to build and support external training and career readiness programs to increase access to qualified diverse talent pipelines, while leveraging regional and local partnerships. Responsibilities
- Build and maintain positive, collaborative relationships with key internal stakeholders (e.g. HR Business Partners, Duke Energy State Presidents, Hiring Managers, Government Relations, Community Relations, Economic Development) to identify, manage and coordinate sourcing and workforce pipelining strategies
- Implement key strategies and partnerships to include, but not limited to, professional associations, diversity recruitment conferences, community outreach programs and events, industry networking events & associations
- Build advocacy through representation in local, regional and national organizations and schools important to the company's sourcing and workforce development strategy
- Perform candidate sourcing and research activities through the development and execution of full lifecycle research and sourcing strategies and plans, ensuring an optimal experience for prospects, clients, and talent acquisition partners
- Establish talent pools in Workday and LinkedIn, and ensure talent pools include qualified candidates representing the communities we serve
- Utilize LinkedIn Recruiter and other tools to source for and network with qualified talent, and serve as a subject matter expert on sourcing tools
- Educate recruiters on effective ways they can source for "ready now" posted positions, which includes leveraging talent pools the sourcer establishes
- Develop and deliver training to skill up colleagues on sourcing practices and tools
- Effectively articulate a compelling value proposition and business strategy to prospects and candidates
- Network closely within the industry and specialized functional areas to identify talent
- Monitor programs and sourcing efforts to ensure compliance with company policies and standards
- Develop an understanding of the distinct qualities and hiring challenges of each region and how Duke Energy's hiring needs can be met through partnership with local education institutions and community organizations
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with administrators of colleges and other education partners
- Represent Duke Energy as needed in public venues, recruiting/sourcing events, community events, and educational forums
- Enhance the organization's understanding of various function spaces through research and synthesis of knowledge acquired, staying current on market trends
- Support hiring managers, recruiters, and regional leadership in the development and implementation of talent sourcing and pipelining strategies
- Track and report out on key performance metrics, including progression of sourced candidates through process
- Participate in ad hoc projects as necessary
Basic/Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- In addition to required degree, three (3) years minimum of related work experience
- In lieu of bachelor's degree AND three (3) years minimum of related work experience listed above, High School/GED AND seven (7) years minimum of related work experience
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with LinkedIn Recruiter and Workday, including establishment of talent pools and working within Workday as an Applicant Tracking System
- Experience developing, coordinating & delivering training on LinkedIn Recruiter, Talent Insights, and Workday
- Previous experience with Duke Energy including an understanding of sourcing and talent acquisition strategies
- Targeted sourcing strategy experience with craft roles
- Understanding of candidate engagement tools and experience evaluating solutions based on department needs
- Demonstrated project management on sourcing and training initiatives, with the ability to drive a timeline and achieve milestones
- Ability to establish and track success metrics for all work, from project milestone achievement to candidate prospect progression through the hiring cycle
- Creative thinking to create and execute on versatile sourcing campaigns
- Event planning and public speaking experience (i.e. Sourcing Events, Career Fairs, Information Sessions, Resume Workshops, etc.)
- High level user of Microsoft Office Products (i.e. Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
- Experience with SharePoint and MS Teams creation and management
- Effective interpersonal skills, e.g. influencing and listening skills to work effectively with all levels of employees and management
- Experience building and maintaining positive, collaborative relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
- Effective planning and problem-solving skills
- Ability to effectively prioritize multiple assignments and display strong organizational skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required to analyze complex issues, develop logical conclusions and make appropriate recommendations
- Ability to effectively prioritize multiple tasks and display effective negotiating skills when dealing with diverse stakeholder expectations
Working Conditions
- This position is located in the Duke Energy Plaza, on site with a hybrid schedule.
- Hybrid - Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. However, hybrid employees should live within a reasonable commute to a Duke Energy facility.
- This position may require some local and occasional overnight travel
