The Sr. Director of Group Strategy for the Performance Coatings Group (PCG) will work directly with the VP of Group Strategy and senior executive leadership to develop and execute PCG's global long-term growth strategy.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Sr. Director of Group Strategy for the Performance Coatings Group (PCG) will work directly with the VP of Group Strategy and senior executive leadership to develop and execute PCG's global long-term growth strategy. This position will lead cross-functional special project teams in support of general management to help identify, evaluate and execute critical strategic opportunities and priorities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:



  • Support the annual strategy process for PCG including timelines, content deliverables, training, change management and metrics. Track performance metrics against Division and organizational goals
  • Lead and manage a portfolio of strategic projects in support of the PCG Business - project portfolio will shift with business needs
  • Seek and identify strategic opportunities / synergies that could be leveraged across the organization in alignment with the Division strategies to accelerate growth
  • Build the strategy narrative to support needed communication across stakeholder groups.
  • Develop strategic communications including presentations for board meetings, leadership meetings, operating plan and annual strategy presentations
  • Participate in process to identify, investigate, evaluate and negotiate acquisitions/divestitures, licensing opportunities and strategic business alliances that are in line with the organization's long-range goals and in partnership with PCG leadership, Divisions and Corporate Development
  • Participate in monthly internal steering committee meetings with strategy leads
  • Meet regularly with Division marketing leaders and PCG Innovation Leader to understand and contribute to strategy development and insight

DECISION MAKING AUTHORITY:



  • Responsible for key decisions relating to the coordination and management of projects, with approval from PCG President & General Manager, SVP Strategic Marketing and other key stakeholders as required.


POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Formal Education:

Required:



  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Marketing, Finance or related field.



Preferred:



  • MBA with concentration in Business Management, Marketing or related field.



Knowledge & Experience:

Required:



  • Experience in strategic planning, competitive industry benchmarking, acquisitions, divestitures, valuation modeling, due diligence.



Preferred:



  • Proven track record of successful delivery of change / business transformation through several large-scale, high profile, strategic business and technology projects or programs in a complex organizational setting.

WORK SCHEDULE:



  • Monday through Friday, 37.5 hours per week
