Job Summary

Reporting to the Technology Director, the ADTS Manager is responsible for supporting and directing the ADTS team in implementing SEM ETP / TPE products into new markets applications and optimizing support for business needs. This position will work closely with internal functional groups to facilitate and support material and application development programs (POL, NPD, CPD, RCR). Requires a BS in Engineering (Plastics preferred), plus 7 years ADTS experience. Must have the ability to operate with minimal direction.

Essential Functions

* Facilitate a culture of excitement and growth
* Derive relevant and measurable Goals and Objectives
* Direct ADTS Engineering support resources
* Drive ADTS process and project management discipline
* Manage monthly group communication to Technology Director
* Firm understanding of Avient SEM Technologies
* Ensure effective ADTS support coverage for strategic markets (PTI, HC, W&C, Cons.)
* Support ADTS Customer technical calls as needed
* Support ADTS with material recommendations and suggestions
* Provide plastic part design, tool design, process design theory and recommendations
* Supervise CAE analysis (MFA/FEA) for plastic part and injection mold tooling design
* Engage customer contacts on interpreting and communicating simulation results
* Attend technical reviews and first launch product trials as needed
* Work with internal teams to identify new material applications and markets
* Partner with R&D Managers to assist product
* Partner with Marketing Managers in creating internal application development parts/tooling J
* Responsible for product part or mold design and processing/troubleshooting literature for new Avient SEM solutions and platforms
* Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience

* Bachelors in Plastics Engineering or related Engineering discipline.
* 7+ years of plastic application development / technical support experience.
* Able to travel 60% of the time.
* Plastic Design (Component, tool, Process) experience
* CAE Simulation experience
* Project lead / Project Management experience

Additional Qualifications

Technical Competence

* Have in-depth knowledge of material technology TPE / ETP
* High Level knowledge of CAE tools (Moldflow or related, FEA, SolidWorks, etc.)
* Drive a team culture of customer urgency
* Understand basic statistical tools including standard deviation, variance and normal distribution.
* Understands and embraces technology processes like LSS, POL, etc.
* Performs work with speed and accuracy.
* Adheres to EHS policy and rules. Interprets SDS's and provide proper instructions.

* Occasionally work in a manufacturing environment where the noise level is loud.
* The individual will be required to work extensively at a computer screen and will, at times, sit at a desk for extended periods.
* Must be able to travel by car or airplane.
