Job Summary

Under the general supervision of the Medical Director or Chief, the Physician will perform clinical duties in the outpatient Oncology, Breast and/or Hematology clinics at Zuckerberg San Francisco General (ZSFG). Clinical responsibilities include:

1) providing care to patient with malignancies and/or hematological blood disorders including work up and diagnosis of problems;
2) screening and initial evaluation of new patients, including medical history, physical examination, use of laboratory and diagnostic studies;
3) furnishing medications and prescribing chemotherapy in accordance with standard practice;
4) recording data, assessment, and intervention accurately and concisely in medical records;
5) teach fellows, residents and students, and participating in tumor boards and other clinical conferences; and
6) other duties as assigned.

Department Description

The UCSF Hematology-Oncology Division at ZSFG is dedicated to excellence in learning, teaching, research and providing comprehensive, compassionate care to all patients with cancer and blood disorders. The division's activities include providing specialty care to outpatients in the clinic and on the inpatient medical wards, clinical and policy research on vulnerable populations, and clinical & multi-disciplinary teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows.

Required Qualifications


  • Board Certified in Oncology and/or Hematology
  • Current California Medical License
  • DEA License
  • Commitment to patient-centered care
  • Must maintain up to date appointment and privileging at their designated hospital(s).

Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience working in a safety net hospital

License/Certification
