Summary

As a WesBanco intern, you will have the opportunity to gain exposure to the bank's strategy and project management functions, expand the tools you need to build a solid career foundation. Enterprise Strategy & Planning is a strategic partner to WesBanco's leaders - helping the company clearly outline its strategic plan, annual tactical business plans and the projects and initiatives that support our overarching goals.

During the program, you will have the opportunity to collaborate across line of business and demonstrate high performance. At the close of the program, you will be expected to present out your specific assignment completion in the format of a capstone presentation.

Essential Function

Banking is a highly regulated industry, and you will be expected to acquire and maintain a proficiency in the Bank's policies and procedures, and adhere to all laws, rules and regulations that are applicable to your conduct and the work you will be performing. You will also be expected to complete all assigned compliance training in a timely manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned with or without prior notice.




  • Assists management team with execution of day-to-day operations of assigned department.
  • Completes tasks and assigned projects according to established completion dates.
  • Develops knowledge and understanding of department and Bank functions.
  • Contributes to a team environment to service customer or business needs to support the success of the department and Bank.
  • Develops knowledge and understanding of compliance and regulatory issues, policies and guidelines within the department and Bank.
  • Maintains a position of trust and responsibility by keeping all employee information and customer business confidential.
  • Provides exemplary customer service in person, by email or by telephone.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Education and/or Experience



  • Currently attending a college or university in the field of strategy and planning.
  • Coursework completed in these fields a plus.
  • Must be available for a minimum of eight weeks.



Technical Skills



  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel.
  • Proficient computer skills and the ability to learn various Banking Software programs.
  • Willingness to learn modern technologies.

  • Possess clear, concise, and effective written and verbal communication skill to effectively express concepts to Bank employees, customers, and prospects.
  • Professional appearance, demeanor, interpersonal relationships, work ethic and attitude.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion regarding bank client information and bank policy and procedure.
  • Basic analytical, problem-solving and decision making skills.
  • Meticulous with good organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet communicated deadlines.
  • Team player with a positive outlook.
