Position Overview: We are looking for an experienced Business Systems / Data Analyst to lead analysis and design activities for a replatforming project centered around reference and master data management across multiple workstreams. This role is crucial in understanding complex data systems, writing detailed requirements, and collaborating closely with business users to deliver solutions. - Business and Data Systems Analysis:
- Lead the analysis of current systems and business processes as part of a replatforming initiative, focusing on reference and master data management.
- Collaborate with business users to gather and define requirements for system design, enhancements, and integrations.
- Analyze business entities, data structures, and system implications to ensure alignment with business needs and objectives.
- Develop system design documentation based on user requirements, with a deep understanding of data flows, entities, and solution implications.
- Data Management:
- Oversee the management of reference and master data across various business units and workstreams, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and integrity.
- Extract and manipulate data using SQL
to support analysis, system designs, and decision-making. - Support data governance initiatives to ensure high-quality data standards.
- Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Act as a liaison between business users and technical teams to ensure clear communication and smooth implementation of system designs.
- Facilitate meetings with stakeholders to elicit requirements, prioritize business needs, and ensure user expectations are met.
- Provide expertise in IBOR, ABOR, and portfolio structures to guide the system design and decision-making processes.
- System Design and Documentation:
- Design solutions that meet the needs of business users while aligning with the technical capabilities and architecture.
- Write detailed functional specifications, system design documents, and user manuals.
- Ensure successful implementation of changes and improvements by working closely with development teams.
- Tools and Technologies:
- Use Advanced Excel
for data manipulation, analysis, and reporting. - Utilize SQL
for data extraction and querying. - Experience with platforms such as Eagle Star
and Snowflake is a plus.
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in business systems
and data analysis roles, preferably in financial services. - Deep understanding of IBOR
or ABOR, and experience working with portfolio structures. - Strong ability to meet with business users to gather and analyze requirements, understand complex data entities, and design effective system solutions.
- Advanced proficiency with Excel
for data analysis and manipulation. - Strong SQL
skills for data extraction, querying, and analysis. - Demonstrated ability to communicate complex concepts to both business and technical stakeholders.
- Proven experience in replatforming, data migration, and implementing new data systems in a business context.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Eagle Star
and Snowflake is highly desirable. - Knowledge of financial services data management and regulations.
- Experience working on large-scale, cross-functional projects.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on collaboration and problem-solving.
