About the Job

Position Overview:
The temporary ATP-Bio Project Specialist contributes towards advancing ATP-Bio's initiatives in workforce development and related programming. As a member of the ATP-Bio cross-pillar program management team, the Program Specialist reports programmatically to the Administrative Director and/or the Cross-Functional Team Project and Program Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
Program Implementation and Coordination (100%) -
- Contribute to the implementation of programs and initiatives
- Coordinate and support colleagues, volunteers, and community members in the execution of events, including logistical planning and management.
- Support the planning and coordination of key ATP-Bio events ensuring smooth logistics and high-quality programming.
- Prepare content for communications, promotional materials, and special events.
- Utilize systems and processes to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of ATP-Bio programs.

This position is a casual appointment, limited to a maximum of 14 hours per week.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field, with at least three years of relevant experience in program coordination, management, education, outreach, or diversity initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to manage events, educational programs, and community outreach efforts.
- Flexibility in work hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by program schedules.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with experience creating clear, engaging content for various audiences.

Preferred:
- Experience working in STEM fields, particularly in programs focused on education, outreach, diversity and inclusion.
- Familiarity with designing and delivering capacity-building or technical programs that enhance skills and knowledge.

The mission of the NSF Center for Advanced Technologies for the Preservation of Biological Systems (ATP-Bio) is to make transformative discoveries, train a diverse workforce, and connect resources and partnerships to ethically translate technologies for storage and distribution of living biological systems. ATP-Bio's vision is to stop biological time allowing living products to be readily available across the globe to advance healthcare, biodiversity, and food supply and sustainability.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $25 - $30.00/hour; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
