About the Job

The Department of Dermatology seeks a Clinical Research Coordinator responsible for working together with the Clinical Research team in Business/Industry and Investigator Initiated projects.

This position is based out of Minneapolis, MN and is eligible for hybrid work from home and/or on campus work dependent upon individual performance and organizational need, though some regular on-site work will be expected. Because the University of Minnesota is a land-grant institution that serves the state, residing in Minnesota is typically required.

Major Duties/Job Description:

Research Coordinator (85%):

  • Provide subject screening and recruitment, verifying subject eligibility, facilitating subject enrollments, and timely acquisition of research samples.
  • Execute effective specimen management, including preparing kits, processing specimens, preparing shipments, tracking inventory, etc.
  • Responsible for study data collection through patient interactions, electronic medicals records, etc.
  • Create and maintenance of subject research charts.
  • Review with Investigators the timely review and reporting of adverse reactions and severe adverse events.
  • Preparation of regulatory applications, consent forms, etc. Track regulatory review submissions to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Maintenance of regulatory binders and required documentation for each clinical research study to ensure compliance and to be audit-ready at any given time.
  • Prepare for site initiation visits, monitoring visits, program audits, etc.
  • Track subject visits and ensure protocol timelines are met.
  • Enter all study and subject data into OnCore clinical trials management system and required sponsor EDC platforms.

Other Support Activities (10%):

  • Provide support and assistance to the clinical research team as directed.
  • Support quality improvement initiatives
  • Attend weekly clinical research meetings

Education (5%):

  • Attend Professional Development Seminars and other educational opportunities as appropriate
  • Engage with clinical teams to foster an environment of quality research participation within the context of exceptional clinical care
Qualifications

All required qualifications must be documented on application materials.

Required Qualification:

  • Bachelors' degree and 2 years of clinical or research experience or a combination of related education and work experience to equal 6 years.
  • Responsible for study coordination to include list duties (screen, recruit, consent, enroll etc
  • Relevant and direct experience in clinical research to include data management and following clinical research Standard Operating Procedures, the Code of Federal Regulations for clinical trials and Good Clinical Practice guidelines.
  • Computer proficiency and ability to navigate multiple software applications.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational, planning and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask and manage projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work in a complex environment
  • Ability to work independently, as a part of a team and with changing priorities
  • Possess excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work flexible work hours, potentially rare evenings and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience with Dermatology patient population
  • Experience in both adult and pediatric clinical trials.
  • Experience with business and industry clinical trials
  • Relevant and direct experience with regulatory requirements including study monitoring, Institutional Review Board submissions, Investigation New Drug (IND) and/or Investigational Device (IDE) submissions.
  • Experience with Epic or other electronic medical record system
  • Experience with Clinical Trial Management Systems such as Oncore

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $27.12hr to $29.12hr, we anticipate most offers will be around the midpoint of this range, depending on education and experience.

Time Appointment: 100% Appointment
