Information Systems Analyst - Workforce Management
Job Summary Applies professional concepts, department/unit, and campus / medical center / OP policies and procedures to resolve a variety of complex issues in one or more IT areas of specialization. Analyzes complex issues. Within defined procedures and practices, determines appropriate action.
The Information Systems Analyst - Workforce Management provides functional and technical expertise for IT-supported payroll and timekeeping systems (UKG Workforce Central, UKG Pro WFM, and additional legacy systems), related data integrations, and business processes, working in partnership with other operations organizations and technical units.
The Analyst applies expertise to solve complex problems across a variety of applications and services, and works independently to provide critical production support and to proactively identify business process improvements and recommended technical solutions.
Responsibilities include daily production support and incident management, solution design and documentation, system enhancements and upgrades, and support for the implementation of new applications.
Involves technology-based analysis of business practices, processes and problems; developing solutions which may involve process design, data and information architecture, software development and policy or procedural changes; creating specifications for systems to meet requirements; validating requirements against needs; designing details of automated systems; developing user interface design; planning and executing unit integration and end-user acceptance testing; may develop training materials for system implementation. May lead cross-functional teams to solve complex business or systems issues.
Additional responsibilities may include oversight for support and enhancements for specific subareas of the UCSF Workforce Management either through a specific sub-domain, such as scheduling, or through a geographic sub domain, such as Oakland, St. Francis/St.Marys, or other specific campus environments. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position is $120,300 - $194,600 (Annual Rate). Department Description UCSF IT provides centralized IT services to support all aspects of the UCSF mission, including patient care, research, and education, in addition to support for enterprise-wide administrative systems. We partner with our UCSF business partners and affiliates to provide common services, IT architectures, and frameworks in the areas of infrastructure technology, integration/interfaces, information management (e.g., master data management, clinical data warehousing), security, enterprise systems of record and IT service management processes and tools.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
- 5-7 years of experience with payroll systems, timekeeping applications, and/or other complex enterprise systems or software (e.g. Kronos, ADP, PeopleSoft, etc.)
- Experience providing operational support and configuration management for enterprise Time and Attendance systems
- Advanced demonstrated SQL and data analysis skills.
- 3-5 years of experience in an organization comparable to UCSF in terms of budget,
- size, complexity, scope of operation, and accounting systems.
- Advanced knowledge of business and process analysis functions.
- Advanced knowledge of related areas of IT.
- Knowledge relating to the design of processes and software across the organization.
- Advanced skills and methodologies associated with process and software design, modification and implementation.
- Demonstrated skills needed to develop process and system implementation plans.
- Demonstrated experience with process analysis, systems analysis, process architectures, and systems analysis methodologies and practices including traditional waterfall, Agile, Agile Scrum, UML, UML Enterprise, et cetera.
- Understanding and skill in complex process and systems requirement documentation standards, such as Use Case modeling, User Story creations, and narrative description.
- Demonstrated ability to work with others from diverse backgrounds.
- Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team. Able to learn effectively and
- meet deadlines. Demonstrates problem-solving skills.
- Advanced knowledge of business processes and procedures, including but not limited to healthcare industry scheduling practices and policies and union-driven timekeeping and payroll policies.
- Demonstrated testing and test planning skills.
- Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization. Interpersonal and communication skills to work with both technical and nontechnical personnel at various levels in the organization.

- Prior experience supporting California-based organizations.
